Named for Mazu, the Chinese goddess of the sea, the subsector borders Gansu (known as the Chinese gate), the frontier subsectors on the edge of Earth Sector, and Earth Subsector itself. Mazu is known as the protector of sailors, fishers, and those who travel on the sea. Perhaps this also extends to the many colonies placed here by the nations of Earth.
Mazu Subsector is home to the majority of US colonies in Earth Sector, as well as Indian, Argentinian, Japanese, Australian, Nigerian colonies alongside a single Chinese colony which had been intended to be the first of many.
